The Burden Is Light - Jon Tyson Review

Image
Before reading this book I had heard of Jon Tyson but had never read anything by him, but after seeing that Banning Liebscher endorsed the book I decided to read it. The Burden Is Light is about “liberating your life from the tyranny of performance and success.” The author accomplishes this in eight chapters. Each one centers around a common burdensome character trait and the biblical solution to it. He covers topics like comparison/calling, control/surrender, and distraction/presence. I highly recommend this book.  I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  JON TYSON  is a widely respected church planter and leader in New York City. Eyewitness to Miracles - Randy Clark review

Image
I have known of Randy Clark for a while, but Eyewitness to Miracles is the first book I have read by him. This book is divided into two parts: The Evidence for the Miraculous and The Problem With Miracles in the Western Mind-Set. In part one, Randy tells the stories of the miraculous in his ministry with chapters like The Blind See, The Lame Walk, and The Dead Are Raised. In part two, he gives arguments about why the miraculous is still for today while explaining the theological and philosophical reasons why many don’t believe in miracles. I highly recommend this book.  I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  Randy Clark, with a DMin from United Theological Seminary, is the founder of Global Awakening, a teaching, healing, and impartation ministry that crosses denominational lines. An in-demand international speaker, he leads the Apostolic Network of Global Awakening and travels extensively for conferenc es, international missions, leadership t

Goliath Must Fall review

Image
Louie Giglio is the pastor of Passion City Church and the founder of the Passion Movement. This is the first book I have read by the author and probably won’t be the last.  In this book, Giglio’s focus is strongholds. He refers to strongholds such as fear, rejection, anger, and addiction as giants. Whole chapters are dedicated to these giants and the many forms they can take.  The book revolves around the story of David and Goliath. The author retells the story with Goliath metaphorically being our strongholds and David being Jesus. David killing Goliath is compared to the finished work of Jesus on the Cross, which is the only solution for any giant. I highly recommend this book.  I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
